Hot isostatic pressing of titanium alloy powders to near net shape offers the opportunity for considerable cost reductions through better material utilization. Further savings can be achieved by the welding of these powder compacts into more complex shapes. This investigation examines the effects of both rotating electrode and hydride-dehydride powder, and compaction parameters on resultant weldability.
