Nuclear fuel reprocessing and high level waste disposal: informational hearings. Volume II. General overview. Part 2

Presentations were made by members of the utility and industry panels on: (1) California utilities and the nuclear statutes; (2) utility technical statement on reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel and management of nuclear wastes from light water reactors; (3) basic questions of high-level waste disposal; (4) corporate experience in the nuclear fuel-cycle industry; (5) reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel; (6) physical status of AGNS Barnwell nuclear fuel plant; and (7) safeguard requirements and implications and the international nuclear proliferation implication of commercial nuclear fuel plants. Then, following a question/answer period, Dr. Karl Z. Morgan spoke on ''The Dilemma of Present Nuclear Power Programs;'' Dr. Frank Collins, consultant (Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union) spoke on commercial reprocessing; Dr Charles Sayles, Member, Board of Directors (Los Angeles Chapter, American Nuclear Society) commented on nuclear hearings; and Ms. Patricia Dolbeare, representative (U.S. Labor Party) commented on nuclear power.
