Impact of the energy crisis on the Atlantic connection

The energy crisis of 1973-74 has caused severe frictions between the US and the European Community. The overall nature of the Atlantic connection is examined here against a background of European and American responses to the energy crisis and its impact on the diplomatic developments. After an examination of profiles, issues, attitudes, capabilities, etc., economic and political lessons derived from the oil crisis are summarized. (MCW)
