The manual contains detailed listings, tables, and diagrams concerning data for coal-producing companies, operating mines, preparation plants, sales agents, exporting firms, and electric utilities and industrial plants using coal and coal products. Maps and data are given on U.S. and Canadian coal seams and reserves. Indexes are included on subjects, advertisers, and trade names. As a new feature in this 1975 Edition, the Mine Directory Section, appearing in a new format, has been computerized. The data bank offers, for the future, a wide range of computer retrieval capabilities. Included is a comprehensive study detailing how major producers view the Appalachian area potential; also, its problems and the development of new projects.
