The symbolic assembly program VIVID is designed to process a program written in the VIVID assembly language to produce a program file which may be executed on the CDC 6600 or CDC 7600 computer. The assembly program itself is available only on the CDC 6600 computer. Language features include the full repertoire of CPU and PPU operation codes, a number of pseudo-operations, full macro instruction capabilities, and alter functions. This document describes the language features which are available and complete instructions to operate the assembler. The reader is assumed to have some familiarity with macro assembly languages and with the CDC 6600/7600 computer systems. (RWR)
