Electrical charging characteristics of nickel--cadmium cells. [12 and 20 Ah]

The electrical charging characteristics of 12- and 20-Ah nickel--cadmium cells are described. Data are reported showing relationships between terminal voltage, overcharge current, and temperature; between charge current and temperature at a state of full charge; and between efficiency and temperature. An empirical equation is solved concerning these relationships and used to control the charge of the cells by controlling the applied voltage.
