Line-reversal comparison of pp. -->. pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ and. pi. /sup -/p. -->. p. pi. /sup -/ at 6 GeV/c

We present differential cross sections at 6 GeV/c for the baryon-exchange reactions (1) pp ..-->.. ..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ and (2) ..pi../sup -/p ..-->.. p..pi../sup -/ over the range -t/sub min/ < -t < 1.5 GeV/sup 2/. Unlike previous experiments at similar momenta, our results are consistent with line-reversal symmetry for -t < 1.0 GeV/sup 2/. We contrast this to our previous results on (3) pp ..-->.. ..pi../sup -/..pi../sup +/ and (4) ..pi../sup +/p ..-->.. p..pi../sup +/ for which line-reversal symmetry is not satisfied.
