Polarization and polarization transfer in the /sup 3/H(d, n)/sup 4/He reaction at 7 MeV

The six polarization transfer coefficients K/subx//sup prime//subz/, K/subz//sup prime//subz/, K/subz//sup prime//subx/, K/subx//sup prime//subx/, K/suby//sup prime//suby/, and K/suby//sup prime//suby//suby/ for the reaction /sup 3/H(d,n)/sup 4/He have been measured at a laboratory deuteron energy of 7.0 MeV. The laboratory angular range 0degree to 105degree was covered. Special attention is given to the zero degree longitudinal polarization transfer case, where it is shown that a beam of neutrons with accurately known polarization may be produced. (AIP)
