Thermal annealing of the products of stabilization of bromine-82 recoil atoms in neutron-irradiated crystalline perbromates of the alkali metals

The thermal annealing of the products of stabilization of bromine-82 recoil atoms in neutron-irradiated crystalline perbromates of the alkali metals was investigated. Paper and ion-exchange chromatography established that the yield of forms of stabilization of /sup 82/Br in thermal annealing depends on the nature of the cation. The retention of /sup 82/Br in the form of /sup 82/BrO/sub 4//sup -/ during the process of thermal annealing changes only to a small degree, while the basic process is the oxidation of /sup 82/Br/sup -/ to /sup 82/BrO/sub 3//sup -/.
