  1. Washington State Univ., Richland (United States)
Neutron activation analysis (NAA) has played an important role in research and education in the physical, earth, biological, veterinary, and agricultural sciences at Washington State University (WSU) since 1969. The research program in NAA is supported by a IMW TRIGA-III-type research reactor and associated facilities for gamma-ray spectrometry, radiochemistry, and low-level counting. Facilities include research and teaching laboratories. The NAA facilities are located at the Nuclear Radiation Center, which is administered as a university wide resource center by the graduate school. This administrative structure has encouraged the use of NAA by faculty in many scientific disciplines.
