The magnetic moment and quadrupole moment of the radioactive isotope [sup 143]Pr have been measured by collinear laser-ion-beam spectroscopy. The magnetic moment is found to be [mu](143)=+2.701(4)[mu][sub [ital N]]; the quadrupole moment, [ital Q](143)=+0.77(16)[ital eb]. The experimental values are discussed by comparing them with the theoretical values of pairing-plus-quadrupole, intermediate-coupling, and interacting-boson-fermion models.
