It is shown that the concentrating power of the reflecting system of a solar energy station depends on the geometry of the central receiver, which can be plane, conical, cylindric, or spherical in shape, and also on other geometric factors. Analytic formulas are illustrated by graphs and are used to analyze published designs for solar energy stations.
