Lamp-pumped phase-conjugation dye laser

Results are given from an investigation of the possibilities for broadening the angular divergence of radiation from a lamp-pumped dye laser by means of stimulated-Brillouin-scattering (SBS)--phase-conjugation (PC) mirrors. A near-diffraction angular divergence and a 3 {mu}sec pulse duration was obtained in a system consisting of an oscillator, a two-pass amplifier employing an alcohol rhodamine 6Z solution and a low-threshold SBS mirror. The possibility of fabricating high-efficiency PC systems is demonstrated.
