Beam-loading effects in linear accelerators

A solution is presented for the problem of beam loading in traveling-wave accelerator sections. The effect of the basic parameters on output beam energy is investigated. It is shown that the section efficiency can be made 100%, neglecting wall attenuation. The results are compared with the well-known fixed-current method. (AIP)
