Measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry in electron-positron annihilation into a quark-antiquark pair: A test of electroweak interference

The forward-backward asymmetry of quarks produced in e[sup +]e[sup [minus]] annihilations, summed over all flavors, is measured at [radical]s between 50 and 64 GeV. The asymmetry is found to agree with the electroweak standard model.
