This patent describes a process for reducing the concentration of residual solids suspended in geothermal brine overflow from a primary brine clarification stage. In the process a mixture of hot, flashed, silica-rich geothermal brine and suspended siliceous material is separated so as to provide a siliceous sludge and the geothermal brine overflow having a residual amount of solids still remaining suspended therein, and ferrous irons.
