p + p r arrow K sup + + K sup minus +. pi. sup + +. pi. sup minus reaction in the momentum range 400--670 MeV/ c

The cross sections for the reaction {ital {bar p}}+{ital p}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup +}+{ital K}{sup {minus}}+{pi}{sup +}+{pi}{sup {minus}} were measured at six momenta from 400 to 670 MeV/{ital c}. Various effective mass distributions indicate that about 37% of the reaction involves {ital K}{sup *0} or {ital {bar K}}{sup *0}, 16% proceeds via the intermediate state {ital K}{sup *0}+{ital {bar K}}{sup *0}, about 21% involves {rho}, 5% proceeds via the {ital cphi}+{rho} state, and the rest follows phase space.
