The paper explores the potential effects of the load management program on the peak load of Taiwan Power Company (Taipower). The authors present a historical background of the system load of Taipower, followed by the results of a survey which included both interviews and mailed questionnaires designed to help understand industrial electricity consumers' willingness to accept the simulated load management program (the time-of-use rate and curtailable rate). The potential effects of the load management program are assessed. Policy recommendations and further research directions are suggested.
