CS/sup +/(A/sup 2/II/sub i/-X/sup 2/..sigma../sup +/) chemiluminescence has been observed from the C/sup +/(2P) + CS/sub 2/ reaction in a flowing afterglow. The vibrational distribution of CS/sup +/(A,v' = 1-8) was nearly exponential with an effective Boltzmann temperature of 2800 +- 300 K. The average fraction of vibrational energy deposited into CS/sup +/(A) was estimated to be 0.11.
