In October 1990, an association of Polish electric utilities selected a consortium to conduct a study to evaluate the potential for modernizing Poland's fossil-fuel power stations. One of the keys to a successful modernization program is the identification of plant equipment and design parameters, characterization of the overall plant thermal performance, characterization of the availability of the plant equipment, and evaluation of the current operational and maintenance procedures. The purpose of analyzing equipment, performance and procedures is to develop a set of recommendations which increase the overall productivity of the plants in the modernization study. To this end, a survey of the seven power stations was conducted. Volume 3 contains the survey results of four major topics.
