Laboratory cleaning trials on a Pennsylvania anthracite in a Baum-type jig and a dense-medium pilot plant

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7253994

Results of cleaning trials of anthracite from the Nesquehoning and Nos. 4 and 6 mines in a Baum-type jig and in a dense-medium pilot plant employing magnetite medium were compared in investigating possible application of the Baum-type jig for cleaning anthracite. If this jig, which is used widely for cleaning bituminous coal, proved suitable for anthracite, its use might lower preparation costs in some plants.
