Domain decomposition for a boundary-value problem with a shock layer

We propose a domain decomposition method for a singularly perturbed elliptic partial differential equation for problems in which the solution has a shock layer interior to the domain. This method is designed for situations in which it is desired to resolve the behavior within the shock layer. 11 refs., 2 figs.
