Spectral and temporal characterizations of coupled-cavity mode locking in a KCl; T1 color center laser

Spectral and temporal data are presented for a coupled-cavity mode-locked KCl:Tl color center when an optical fiber having anomalous group velocity dispersion was incorporated within the control cavity. The particular spectral characteristics that relate to the optimized operating conditions of this coupled-cavity mode-locked laser are described in detail where the role of modulational instability is included.
