Health assessment for Western Sand and Gravel National Priorities List (NPL) Site, Burrillville, Rhode Island, Region 1. CERCLIS No. RID009764929. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7244718

The Western Sand and Gravel National Priorities List (NPL) Site is located near the Slatersville Reservoir in Burrillville, Rhode Island. Septic and chemical wastes were dumped into unlined seepage lagoons at the former gravel mine from 1975 through May 1979. Contaminants, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), from the site appear to have migrated into the groundwater and affected off-site residential water supply wells. The site is of potential public health concern because of the risk to human health resulting from possible exposure to hazardous substances at concentrations that may result in adverse health effects.
