OSTI ID:7234729
This study compares the output of the upper-air quality control (QC) methods used by the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC) with those of the National Meteorological Center (NMC). AFGWC uses the new Upper-Air Validator (NUAV), while NMC uses the Complex QC procedure for Rawinsonde Heights and Temperations (CQCHT). This study identifies advantages, disadvantages, and added value of each QC scheme.
