Interstellar reddening of delta Cephei

Observations of 32 stars with the uvbybeta photometric system in the field of delta Cep are used to establish the reddening trend in the direction of the variable. The reddening gradient, in E(b-y), at the position of delta Cep is about 0.05/sup m/ per 100 parsecs; the star's color excess is found to be E(b-y) = 0.10/sup m/.
