C.P. Crane Units 1 and 2 are cyclone fired utility steam generators, originally equipped with LJungstrom horizontal shaft rotary regenerative air heaters. These air heaters have been the source of considerable air leakage and resulting loss of generation. This paper reports on the heat pipe air heater replacement in Unit 1.
