Measurement of delayed. gamma gamma. coincidences in radiative capture of thermal neutrons by /sup 237/Np

An attempt was made to observe the shape isomer /sup 238/Np by detecting the decay of the expected isomer by the ..gamma.. channel in thermal-neutron capture by /sup 237/Np nuclei. An upper limit of the isomer ratio 2 x 10/sup -4/ is obtained for lifetimes in the range 70--200 nsec.
