The Directive reissues Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5100.76, May 17, 1977, to continue, in restructured form, the Physical Security Review Board, and modify the reporting criteria previously set forth. It outlines the authorities, responsibilities, and functions relative to the formulation of world-wide uniform policy, standards, and procedures for the physical security of nuclear weapons, devices, reactors, and materials, and conventional arms, ammunition, and explosives in the possession or custody of DoD Components. The Directive also authorizes the issuance of DoD 5100.76-M.
