Detailed data are given on 98 fatalities caused by electric contacts in coal mines of Alabama for 15-year period 1925 to 1939. Tabulation covers occupation of victim, equipment involved, cause of accident, height of trolley wire, and attempts to resuscitate victim. Such data stress need for proper installation, grounding, and maintenance of electric equipment; proper guarding and shielding of electric conductors; and thorough training of all employees in administering artificial respiration.
