Analysis of trace elements in coal by spark-source mass spectrometry. Report. of investigations

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7219369
As part of a respirable mine dust research program, spark-source mass spectrometry has been used for the semi-quantitative determination of trace elements (200 ppM weight or less) in raw coals. In addition, several minor and major elements have been determined using technique. Sixty-four elements ranging in concentrations from 0.01 to 41,000 ppm weight were determined in one anthracite, two-mvb, four-lvb, and six hvAb raw coal samples. The samples represented ten coal seams located in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Utah, and Colorado. (Author) (GRA)
