New concept in subsea completions: diverless flowline connection; single-trip, guidelineless workover

For those water depths where guidlines are used to maintain a link between the surface vessel and subsea equipment, a subsea completion tree system was designed to use those guidelines as part of a new remote flowline connection system which allows diverless installation. After the drillship moves and the guidelines are no longer available, a guidelineless re-entry system is used for downhole wireline work and servicing of the tree cap or control pods in a single riser trip. Major components of the system are described along with their operation. (JRD)
