The importance of proper voltage regulator setting for operation at differing temperatures is emphasized. Battery counter emf is higher at low temperatures and lower at high temperatures--the voltage regulator must be able to allow for this to deliver proper charging current to the battery. New, low-antimony batteries lessen the danger of overcharging at elevated temperatures to a considerable extent. (RWR)
