Measurement of environmental /sup 241/Am and the Pu//sup 241/Am ratio by photon spectrometry

An instrumental analysis method for /sup 241/Am concentration and the Pu//sup 241/Am ratio measurements has been developed. The /sup 241/Am ratio is estimated from the uranium and the neptunium L/sub ..beta../ x-ray ratios measured with a Si(Li) detector. The accuracy and sensitivity of the method is adequate for some research applications.
