Influence of hydrogen on high cycle fatigue of polycrystalline vanadium

OSTI ID:7212235
The room temperature fatigue behavior of several polycrystalline V-H/sub 2/ alloys is described. Hydrogen extends the life of unnotched vanadium but has a deleterious effect in notched materials. Crack propagation data are correlated with tensile yield stress and cyclic strain hardening data.
