This report presents the results of a comprehensive investigation of energy use in U.S. agricultural production for the year 1974. Energy consumption estimates are presented for both national and state levels by fuel type, fertilizer and pesticides, by commodity, by month, and by categories of functional use, including irrigation and crop drying.
