This guide has been prepared to assist those in the oil and gas industry who may not be totally familiar with how the federal government, particularly the US Department of Energy (DOE), does business with private sector companies. Basic information is provided on what DOE is trying to do, why it wants to work with the oil and gas industry, how it can work with companies, and who to contact and where to write for further information. This last item is noteworthy because it is important for users of this guide to be able to get the details about subjects that may interest them.
