Superconducting properties of high-T/sub c/ Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin films

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)

Polycrystalline thin films of the high-T/sub c/ Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system have been grown on MgO substrates using an rf magnetron sputtering technique. The Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin films with a sharp superconducting transition were obtained after the post-annealing. The best sample exhibits the transition temperature of around 110 K with zero-resistance temperature of about 100 K. The critical current density of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system is estimated to be 10/sup 5/ to 2 x 10/sup 5/ A/cm/sup 2/ at 77 K.
