This paper uses HF-H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/ solutions with high concentrations of titanium and fluoride characteristic for treatment of rare-metal titanium-containing raw materials as starting materials. The content of a number of the impurities in the solution was determined by quantitative emission spectral analysis of the ammonical sum of the oxides. The solution had high concentrations of titanium and fluoride relative to the content of niobium, and expecially, of tantalum. Sulfuric acid was introluced to improve the extraction of the metals.
