Radiographic image enhancement. [For testing confined pinch tube welds]

Radiography is the nondestructive test method used in the Tritium Production Facilities to verify the integrity of confined pinch tube welds. A digital image processing system is being developed to enhance the radiographic image for quantitative and qualitative analyses. Improved measurements accuracy, repeatability, and detail definition will be obtained through its use. The development program is the joint effort of the Du Pont Engineering Department and the Savannah River Tritium Facilities technical support studies group.
