Pinellas Plant magnetics mission assignment
This report documents the magnetics mission assignment transfer of responsibility from Allied Signal, Inc., Kansas City Division (KCD) [formerly Bendix] to GE Neutron Devices (GEND). For the most part, this report is presented in summary form and is intended to serve as a guide for future work transfer mission assignments. It is organized in such a manner as to carry the reader through some of the early transfer activities, documentation, and key milestones. The scope of work and the implementation methods used to enact the transfer are reviewed. An analysis of the current and future magnetics work load is provided, concluding with specific business strategies which will assist GEND in supporting this work load. Throughout the transfer action, valuable lessons were learned. These lessons are provided for future guidance. The positive actions which were taken to facilitate the transfer, as well as notable deficiencies in planning and execution processes, are discussed. Shortcomings are in no way implied or directed toward any agency involved in the transfer. To the contrary, all organizations and individuals involved in the transfer were most cooperative and interested only in the successful completion of the transfer. 26 figs., 4 tabs.
