Self-scanning photodiode arrays for spectroscopy

Journal Article · · Res./Dev.; (United States)
OSTI ID:7196995
Self-scanning photodiode arrays are monolithic silicon integrated circuits containing sensors, multiplex switches, and shift registors for scanning. They consist of a row of silicon photodiodes, each with an associated storage capacitor on which to integrate photocurrent and a multiplex switch for periodic readout via an integrated shift register scanning circuit. The performance of these self-scanning photodiode arrays for x-ray spectroscopy is discussed, and clock and amplifier circuits employed are presented. (WHK)
