Methylmercury dicyandiamide (Morsodren) was given to adult Mallard ducks as 0.5 ppM and 3 ppM at feed. Behavior of offspring was monitored by observing response to a recorded maternal call. No significant differences were observed between subjects and controls. However, the ducklings from the mercury fed adults were hyper-responsive to fright stimulus and seemed to exhibit less searching behavior when responding to the maternal call. (JWP)
