Moderate resolution profiles of the O iii forbidden doublet at lambdalambda4959, 5007 have been obtained over a period of about 1 year from the nuclei of the two brightest Seyfert galaxies, NGC 1068 and NGC 4151. No significant changes in the line profiles were apparent during the observational period. There are striking differences in the profiles of these lines in the two galaxies: NGC 1068 has a broad, symmetric, structured profile, while that of NGC 4151 is much narrower and asymmetric. The features in each profile which persist over the year can be represented by separate (probably Gaussian) components. For NGC 1068, ''clouds'' are found at -689, -234, +120, and +635 km s/sup -1/ with respect to the centroid and with relative intensities of 0.35, 0.70, 1.00, and 0.42, respectively, with 570 km s/sup -1/ full width at half-power (FWHP). For NGC 4151, clouds are found at -312, -130, +54, and +390 km s/sup -1/, with relative intensities of 0.17, 0.27, 1.00, and 0.08, respectively, with 270 km s/sup -1/ FWHP. (AIP)
