A class of Bianchi type VI cosmological models with electromagnetic field

The parallel-propagation solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations found by Tariq and Tupper is generalized to represent the solution of the field equations for a perfect-fluid distribution both with and without an electromagnetic field. All the solutions admit a three-parameter group of isometries of Bianchi type VI and form a subclass of the Bianchi type VI models found by Ellis and MacCallum. The perfect-fluid models in this subclass automatically satisfy the Hawking--Penrose strong energy condition, while those models which represent perfect fluid with electromagnetism have current 4-vector which is either spacelike or zero. Properties of these models are discussed and are compared to those of another subclass found by Ellis and MacCallum. (AIP)
