Relativistic Hamiltonian equations for any spin

Journal Article · · Ann. Phys. (N.Y.); (United States)
The Guertin generalization of Dirac theory for a free particle with half-integer spin is shown to be a unitary transformation of the Weaver-Hammer-Good description by explicitly deriving the unitary connections for spin 3/2 between the two descriptions and the Foldy-Wouthuysen representation. Thus, the Guertin description exchanges simplicity of Lorentz transformation properties for some simplification in the form of physical operators. Some other spin-3/2 representations, unitarily equivalent to those above, are also noted. (AIP)
