Strength of the metal-ligand bonds in some bicyclopentadienyl and dibenzene compounds of 3d transition elements

The mean bond dissociation energies D/sup -/ /SUB i/ (M-L) were calculated using the data of various authors for bicyclopentadienyl complexes (n/sup 5/-C/sub 5/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/M and bis-benzene complexes (n/sup 6/-C/sub 6/H/sub 6/)/sub 2/M, where M is a transition metal. Along with these values, Wiberg indices were calculated by the INDO MO method W(M-L) which are virtually invariant within the series of dicyclopentadienyl and dibenzene pi-complexes of 3d transition metals.
