Acetylenic condensation of 2-N,N-dialkylaminoand 2-alkoxy-3-bromo-1,4-naphthoquinones

This paper investigates the possibility of using readily accessible 2-N,N-dialkylamino-3-bromo-1,4-naphthoquinones (I) in direct synthesis of photosensitive 2-N,N-dialkylamino-2-acetyenyl-1,4-naphthoquinones, previously obtained by oxidative amination of 2-acetylenyl-1,4-naphthoquinones. It is shown that condensation of (I) with terminal acetylenes under Pd-Cu catalytic conditions yields 2-N,N-dialkylamino-3-acetyleneyl-1,4-naphthoquinones. acetylenic condensations were used for obtaining 2-alkoxy-3-acetylenyl-1,4-naphtholquinones from the corrsponding 2-alkoxy-3-bromo derivatives.
