Simple high-power pulsed nitrogen laser

An output of 500 kW peak power at 3371 A and 25 pps was obtained from a pulsed nitrogen laser. A water capacitor was employed for energy storage, resulting in a simpler laser construction. The pulse duration was 10 to 15 ns, providing very high energy for pumping ultra-narrow-band dye lasers.
