Alignment of H(2p) in H/sup +/-H,H/sub 2/ collisions

The integral alignment of H(2p) was measured for 1--25-keV H/sup +/-H,H/sub 2/ collisions. At incident energies of a few keV, H(2p) production is the result of a united-atom 2psigma-2p..pi.. rotational coupling. The experimental results for H/sup +/-H are in reasonable agreement with numerical calculations by W. Fritsch and C.-D. Lin (Phys. Rev. A 26, 762 (1982); 27, 3361 (1983)).
